Trees are sold and packaged in bundles of 10. Ex: ordering "2" is equal to ordering 20 trees. Multiple species cannot be combined into a bundle.

Description

Tristis Poplar - Populus x tristis

Bundle of 10 seedlings. Each seedling measures 12" - 24" tall. 

This hybrid poplar tree is hardy, disease-resistant, and drought resistant. It has a nice round canopy and is slightly more full than the Okanese Poplar. It loses its leaves later in the year than other poplars and with its showy yellow leaves in late fall, it makes for a perfect ornamental tree. Tristis is well suited for the southern prairie due to its ability to tolerate cold and strong winds.

Width at maturity: 25 ft  

Lifespan: 60+ years 

Growth Rate: 2.6-3 ft/year 

Light conditions: partial shade- - full sun 

Soil conditions: Prefers well-drained soils

In-row Spacing: 8 ft.  

Between Row Spacing: 16 ft. 

Notes: 

  • Male trees, so no seeds or fluff/fuzz
  • Strongly scented balsamic buds 
  • High potential to sucker
