Trees are sold and packaged in bundles of 10. Ex: ordering "2" is equal to ordering 20 trees. Multiple species cannot be combined into a bundle.

Description

Hill Poplar - Populus X Hill 

Bundle of 10 seedlings. Each seedling measures 12" - 24" tall. 

Hill Poplar is part of the hybrid poplar varieties recommended for the prairies. It is a hardy, fast-growing tree and more cold-resistant than most poplars. It is also one of the more drought-resistant varieties of hybrid poplars. Hill Poplars are suitable for windbreaks, shelterbelts, phytoremediation, and riparian buffers.  

Height at maturity: 60-70 ft 

Width at maturity: 10-20 ft  

Lifespan: 70+ years 

Growth Rate: 2-3 ft/year 

Light conditions: partial shade to full sun 

Soil conditions: Normal to wet soil moisture

In-row Spacing: 8 ft.  

Between Row Spacing: 16 ft. 

Notes: 

  • High potential to sucker 
  • Moderately susceptible to disease
  • Female trees produce seeds and fluff/fuzz
